Al Gore Makes Millions Off Climate Change. I put this article in this category because it indicates the absolute CORRUPTNESS of Al Gore and his Global Climate Change friends: Silver Spring Networks, produces hardware and software to make the electricity grid more efficient. It came to Mr. Gore’s firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, one of Silicon Valley’s top venture capital providers, looking for $75 million to expand its partnerships with utilities seeking to install millions of so-called smart meters in homes and businesses. The deal appeared to pay off in a big way last week, when the Energy Department announced $3.4 billion in smart grid grants. Of the total, more than $560 million went to utilities with which Silver Spring has contracts. Kleiner Perkins and its partners, including Mr. Gore, could recoup their investment many times over in coming years.

Marine Leads “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Fight Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James T. Conway has emerged in internal Pentagon deliberations as the most outspoken opponent of permitting gay men and women to serve openly in the U.S. military, according to a former senior Pentagon official. Most of the senior brass hold deep reservations about President Obama's pledge to end the ban on gays in the military, especially in the middle of two wars that have put extra stress on the military, down to the platoon level, where soldiers and Marines would be expected to bond with openly gay colleagues.

Report From Afghanistan Amid the debate in Washington over whether or not to send more U.S. troops to Afghanistan, it would be easy to overlook the fact that there are thousands of soldiers from other countries in the field with their American counterparts. The Estonians are a good example. “In general … the people in Estonia understand we’re a member of NATO. We can’t just consume security we have to contribute to it,” said Maj. Janno Mark. “Looking at who is our neighbor you can understand why we have to be a good and active member.”

CIT Bankruptcy Shows Time To End Tarp Sunday, CIT Group, with $71 billion in assets one of the largest small business lenders in the country and the recipient last December of $2.3 billion in taxpayer money filed for bankruptcy. It was the fifth largest bankruptcy in US history. Monday, nothing much happened. Stocks didn’t collapse. There was no panic. In fact, all of the major US stock indices actually went up. Even a tracker of all of the financial stocks in the S&P 500 stock index only lost about 0.14 percent. CIT’s failure was pretty much a complete non-event. Now, there is substantial proof that there is no further need for TARP, and there is every reason to end the program as quickly as possible.

Cash For Clunkers Cost $24,000 Per Car A total of 690,000 new vehicles were sold under the Cash for Clunkers program last summer, but only 125,000 of those were vehicles that would not have been sold anyway, according to an analysis released Wednesday by the automotive Web site Edmunds.com. The average rebate was $4,000. But the overwhelming majority of sales would have taken place anyway at some time in the last half of 2009, according to Edmunds.com. That means the government ended up spending about $24,000 each for those 125,000 additional vehicle sales. Edmunds.com's estimate of the ultimate sales increase generally matches what industry experts had thought, said George Pipas, a sales analyst with Ford Motor Co. Emunds.com's projection indicates that, without Cash for Clunkers, October's sales increase would be even higher.

Ford Surprises with 1$ Billion Dollar Profit; Sees Profit in ’11 See what happens when you let car companies operate themselves in a competitive economy! Buy stock!...The automaker said Monday earnings were fueled by U.S. market share gains, cost cuts and the Cash for Clunkers program, which drew flocks of buyers to showrooms this summer. Ford's stock rose 40 cents, or 5.7 percent, to $7.40 in pre-market trading.

Stimulus Jobs Overstated by Thousands WASHINGTON (AP) - An early progress report on President Barack Obama's economic recovery plan overstates by thousands the number of jobs created or saved through the stimulus program, a mistake that White House officials promise will be corrected in future reports. The government's first accounting of jobs tied to the $787 billion stimulus program claimed more than 30,000 positions paid for with recovery money. But that figure is overstated by least 5,000 jobs, according to an Associated Press review of a sample of stimulus contracts. The AP review found some counts were more than 10 times as high as the actual number of jobs; some jobs credited to the stimulus program were counted two and sometimes more than four times; and other jobs were credited to stimulus spending when none was produced.

Stimulus or Sowing the Seeds of Depression The major reason for Barrack Obama’s electoral success was that the majority of Americans had a negative opinion of George W. Bush’s handling of the economy. Bush infamously stated that he had to suspend his free market principles in order to save the free market; this questions whether Bush or any of the other politicians understand the free market. However, Obama’s efforts to resolve the economic crisis are oddly similar to Bush’s policies and the majority of Americans increasingly express a negative opinion of his handling of the economy.

Teachers' trainers must make the grade, too…Texas will hold programs accountable for graduates’ success Under a proposed new rating system, the programs would be held accountable for their graduates' effectiveness on the job — especially regarding student achievement. Teacher programs that repeatedly fall short of the standards could lose their state accreditation. “Those programs that are doing poorly — and the result is poor teachers — ought to get sanctioned,” said state Sen. Florence Shapiro, R-Plano, who authored the bill this year requiring the more rigorous accreditation system.

ELEMENTARY EPIDEMIC: 11 Uncovered Videos Show School Children Performing Praises to Obama Big Hollywood has already posted a couple disturbing videos of young school children singing/speaking praises to President Obama, but when eleven more dropped in our email box it came as quite a shock. What seemed like an aberration now appears to be a troubling pattern. Maybe “epidemic” is a better word. Each one of the videos below is creepier than the last because the further down you go, the younger the children — brace yourself for kindergartners – except for the last and most disturbing video, which you have to see to believe.

Sex ed lies and modern culture Perhaps your local school's sex ed is taught as part of health class. That would be ironic, since in most cases, teaching sex education has less to do with health than indoctrination. In fact, much of what's taught under the heading of sex ed actually allows for practices that are distinctly un-healthy. In her latest book, You're Teaching My Child What?, Dr. Miriam Grossman exposes the lies inherent in sex ed teachings and the dangers those lies pose for children. Grossman is also the author of Unprotected: A Campus Psychiatrist Reveals How Political Correctness Endangers Every Student.

Kevin Jennings aggressively advocates using our schools to teach children—including young children—about homosexuality and homosexual practices. He is the author of a Foreword to a book called Queering Elementary Education, and as the former Director of GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Educational Network), he supports a radical agenda that includes bringing sexual liberationist teachings into public schools. That’s what he means by “queering” elementary education.

Steward's 10 'Myths' About Global Warming and CO2 Damage In fact, one contrarian is getting attention in Washington this week as he distributes his new book defending CO2 to House and Senate members involved in the ongoing fight over the energy bill and cap-and-trade scheme. Believe him or not, H. Leighton Steward, whom Whispers wrote about earlier this week, tells us in his new book, Fire, Ice and Paradise, about the "myths" of global warming and the damaging effects of carbon dioxide. His book is full of national and international studies, and he says that while he's often sneered at for being a contrarian, few want to debate him directly on the issue.

Judge Declares Climate Change Belief a Religion. Couldn’t figure out which category to put this in because I don’t have one for “Too Crazy To Be True”…In a significant decision today, a judge found Nicholson's views on the environment were so deeply held that they were entitled to the same protection as religious convictions, and ruled that an employment tribunal should hear his claim that he was sacked because of his beliefs. The judgment could open the door for people to take their employers to tribunals over their stance on a range of issues, from animal rights to feminism.

The Right Not To Get a Shot; What the Constitution Says About Vaccination Under the 10th Amendment, powers not given to the federal government "are reserved to the States." Over the years, that has been interpreted to mean that the federal government cannot require anyone to get vaccinated, according to Alexandra Stewart, director of the Epidemiology of U.S. Immunization Law project at George Washington University's School of Public Health and Health Services. Nor can Congress require states to mandate vaccinations. "They can encourage, they can advise, but they cannot require states to do anything," Stewart said.

Please sign the petition AGAINST the Copenhagen Treaty
The draft Treaty of Copenhagen, to be signed in mid-December 2009, would create an unelected world government with direct power over all financial and trading markets, and direct power to intervene over the heads of elected governments in the economic and environmental affairs of all nations that sign the Treaty. The word "government" actually appears in the Treaty as the first of three purposes of a huge, new, supranational bureaucratic entity that will have the power to require wealthier nations to redistribute up to 2% of their annual gross domestic product to third-world countries in imagined reparation for imaginary "climate debt" - and all this just as final scientific proof that CO2 has a tiny and harmless warming effect is available. Please sign the Instrument of Repudiation, and urge at least five of your friends to sign it too, and urge each of them to find five more to sign it. The Instrument will be tabled during the Copenhagen Conference this December. So sign now, and save America's freedom, democracy, and prosperity. http://webcommentary.com/signrep.php

And so your tax money is being used to help get a FOUR YEAR OLD a HOME… Among those claiming bogus credits, at least some of them were definitely first-timers. The credit has already been claimed by 500 people under the age of 18, including a four-year-old. This pre-K housing whiz likely bought because mom and dad make too much to qualify for the full credit, which starts to phase out at $150,000 of income for couples, $75,000 for singles.

The True Cost of the House Health Bill: 1.5 TRILLION Dollars The Congressional Budget Office released its preliminary score of the bill and while some in the media have been reporting its net cost of $894 billion, the total cost of health reform legislation is more like $1.5 trillion. So, Speaker Pelosi is essentially right back where she started—with a huge 2,000 page plan that carries a hefty price tag.

Tom Coburn Says Senate Will Thwart Health Care Bill! Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., says the House will pass a healthcare bill this year, but that the Senate won’t. In a recent speech, Coburn, who is a doctor, also voiced his opposition to Democratic reform plans. “We’re not listening to the American people as a whole,” he said. “If you’re sick, I don’t care whether you have insurance or not, this is the best place in the world to get sick. The thing that limits access is cost. But if you’re sick, we look past the cost and try to treat.”

The National Right to Work Committee (NRTWC) has identified a number of schemes buried within House and Senate versions of the proposed government-run health care program that would open the way to forced unionization. These obscure provisions have been largely overlooked in the midst of an intense national debate over the merits of a public option. But the "employer mandates" and "cooperative health care associations" that would be used to implement a government-run system includes language that allows for union bureaucrats to take charge of health care decisions for millions of Americans.

The Swine Flu Democrats (Gitmo Edition): Last week, President Obama declared a national emergency because of the H1N1 virus. What had been a matter of concern, was elevated, in the minds of many, to something that is cause for panic. Citizens across the country have spent hours trying to schedule an appointment for a vaccination. Others have waited in long lines in order to get a shot. Parents of "at risk" children have been tying up the phone lines of their pediatricians trying to find out who has the vaccine and where they might go to get their kids a shot. Parents in a Milwaukee suburb spent hours in the rain waiting for a shot. A group of concerned mothers from Maryland will be waking their children before dawn Saturday and driving nearly an hour to wait in line for who knows how long -- all in the hopes of scoring one of 800 vaccinations available in a neighboring county. Pediatricians are waking up in the middle of the night after nightmares about a vaccine shortage. Frustration and anger have been building but there had not been an obvious target for those feelings. That may have changed late Friday afternoon with the news that the Pentagon has offered to give swine flu shots to detainees and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

New Study Reveals Connection Between Enforcing Immigration Laws and National Security “Shortly after midnight on September 9, 2001, Maryland state trooper Joseph Catalano pulled over a red Mitsubishi rental car traveling 90 mph in a 65 mph zone on I-95 north of Baltimore,” the introduction of the report stated. “The driver, Ziad Jarrah, had a Florida driver’s license and quietly accepted the $270 fine issued by Catalano before continuing on to join his friends at a hotel in New Jersey. Two days later, Jarrah boarded United Airlines flight 93, which he would later pilot into a field near Shanksville, Pa., killing everyone aboard,” it added.

Card Check Forced Unionism Card checks empower union bosses to force a business's employees to accept a union as their exclusive bargaining agent solely through the acquisition of signed union authorization cards from employees in a particular bargaining unit. Since union officials themselves keep the signed cards until they obtain the required number, workers have no real privacy rights vis-à-vis Big Labor in this process. And under the watchful eyes of union organizers, workers may be intimidated into signing not just themselves, but all their nonunion fellow employees, over to union-boss control.

Obama and Google – A Love Story -- No one can accuse President Barack Obama of cozying up to corporate America. From his denunciations of Wall Street greed to his critiques of the auto manufacturers, Obama and his team have done little to disguise their mistrust of big business -- except when it comes to one very large, very influential technology company. In Google (GOOG, Fortune 500), the $22-billion-a-year online-advertising Goliath, Obama appears to have found a corporate kindred spirit. Google executives, led by CEO Eric Schmidt and co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, are scary smart and supremely self-confident (much like the President himself), and despite their company's growing power, they depict themselves as advocates for consumers.

MORALITY:
-------------------------------------------------------------------

"[T]he importance of piety and religion; of industry and frugality; of prudence, economy, regularity and an even government; all ... are essential to the well-being of a family." --Samuel Adams, letter to Thomas Wells, 1780

"It is of great importance to set a resolution, not to be shaken, never to tell an untruth. There is no vice so mean, so pitiful, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world's believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to Peter Carr, 1785

Why Hoffman Lost With Republicans taking the two governorships up in New Jersey and Virginia , the only sad saga for conservatives last night was, of course, the special U.S. House election in New York’s 23rd District. With liberal Republican nominee Dede Scozzafava abandoning her campaign Saturday and state and national GOPers rallying to Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman, small-c conservatives nationally had worked for and hoped for a win by the insurgent candidate.

The Myth of ’08 Demolished – Charles Krauthammer An excellent examination of the Governor’s races in Virginia and New Jersey and what it all really means… Exactly a year later comes the empirical validation of that skepticism. Virginia -- presumed harbinger of the new realignment, having gone Democratic in '08 for the first time in 44 years -- went red again. With a vengeance. Barack Obama had carried it by six points. The Republican gubernatorial candidate won by 17 -- a 23-point swing. New Jersey went from plus 15 Democratic in 2008 to minus 4 in 2009. A 19-point swing.

The End of An Era That Never Began To listen to liberals and the White House spin election results, you'd think all was well with the world. Barack Obama is still personally popular! The evil right-wing extremists lost in New York's 23rd congressional district and a Democrat (who was arguably more conservative than the Republican nominee) won. Virginia was always a red state (no matter what we all said about it turning blue with Obama's victory), and the election hinged on local issues. Defeated New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine was personally unpopular (let's all forget that the White House tried to turn the race into a referendum on Obama's agenda).

Leftist GOP Candidate Quits Race ALBANY, N.Y. - Fighting plunging support, Republican Dierdre Scozzafava abruptly suspended her campaign Saturday in a special election for a U.S. House seat that has exposed a rift among national factions of the party…Longer term, Democrats will cast this as a troubling sign for the GOP because it exemplifies that divide in the party between moderates and conservatives, with those further to the right, including the "Tea Party" movement, now getting the upper hand.

Big victory for traditional marriage in Maine Gay marriage has now lost in every single state -- 31 in all -- in which it has been put to a popular vote. Gay-rights activists had hoped to buck that trend in Maine -- known for its liberal-minded electorate -- and mounted an energetic, well-financed campaign. With 87 percent of the precincts reporting, proponents of traditional marriage had 53 percent of the votes.

Same Sex Marriage Activists Take Off The Gloves In Maine. After weeks of parading around Maine as the faces of compassion and normalcy, the masks of same-sex "marriage" have finally come off. So have the gloves. After Tuesday's defeat, homosexual activists are shocked, they're angry, and now they're determined to make voters pay. In a new campaign, the people of Maine Marriage Equality have decided to unleash some California-style harassment on the churches that publicly sided with traditional marriage -- Question 1. Ever the sore losers, the Left is calling on supporters to file IRS complaints against any house of worship that supported marriage as God intended it. Intimidation is what they do best, and Maine Equality is hoping to show off those talents by stripping Maine churches of their tax-exempt status. Unfortunately for them, it's completely within a church's legal rights to preach on social issues, particularly as they pertain to Scripture.

Voters Make House Calls. If House members won't come to the mountain, then Republicans will bring the mountain of voters to them. As part of an eleventh hour push to block the health care bill, Rep.
