What the Dems Know: Universal Voter Registration – ALSO VERY IMPORTANT In January, Chuck Schumer and Barney Frank will propose universal voter registration. What is universal voter registration? It means all of the state laws on elections will be overridden by a federal mandate. The feds will tell the states: 'take everyone on every list of welfare that you have, take everyone on every list of unemployed you have, take everyone on every list of property owners, take everyone on every list of driver's license holders and register them to vote regardless of whether they want to be ...'

Please contact your STATE legislators and ask them to consider authoring additional sovereignty legislation in response to “Universal Voter Registration”. This coupled with federal immigration reform (amnesty) will be yet another big nail in the coffin of our republic.

States Fight Back - In addition to 27 states that have already taken legislative steps to combat the Congressional Democrats’ health care bills, and the 13 state Attorney Generals who joined together to fight the constitutionality of issues such as the Nebraska “Cornhusker Kickback” on Medicaid payments, states are also preparing to take legal action against the federal government if certain controversial provisions are enacted into law.

World Freedom Suffers Further Decline: On January 12, Freedom House released its findings from the latest edition of Freedom in the World, the annual survey of global political rights and civil liberties. According to the survey’s findings, 2009 marked the fourth consecutive year in which global freedom suffered a decline—the longest consecutive period of setbacks for freedom in the nearly 40-year history of the report.

9 Vt. state office candidates favor secession Peter Garritano thinks it's time for Vermont to call it quits with America. The way the 54-year-old automobile salesman sees it, the "empire" is about to implode and tiny Vermont can lead the way by becoming its own independent republic. So he's running for lieutenant governor, topping a slate of secession-minded candidates seeking statewide offices this year. Their name: Vermont Independence Day.

Michael Steele Has Lost the Support of His Party The latest flap involves the release of the Republican National Committee chairman’s book, “Right Now: A 12-Step Program for Defeating the Obama Agenda.” Steele failed to inform Republican congressional leaders that the book was coming out, and many of them learned about it only through Steele’s television appearances. But many see criticism over the book as a pretext for what really is disturbing a range of Republican leaders: Steele’s public comments, which can be described only as bizarre.

Boren: Democrats may lose Congress While such a statement falls in the category of conventional wisdom that historically has the party in power losing congressional seats in mid-term elections, Boren parts company with others within his own party by suggesting such a setback would be a "good thing for Oklahoma and for me.'' "If we have a tight majority one way or another, that puts me in the driver's seat,'' the three-term lawmaker said.

FUNNIES OF THE WEEK:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Blame America: "I think that we have inspired more jihadis against us." --NBC's Andrea Mitchell on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. From the Patriot Post.

Non Compos Mentis: "I'm blacker than Barack Obama. I shined shoes. I grew up in a five-room apartment. My father had a little laundromat in a black community not far from where we lived. I saw it all growing up." --former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich
And the apology: "It's a stupid metaphor to say I'm blacker than Barack Obama, that I apologize for. It's not appropriate for me, a white person, to stand out somehow and claim to be a black person, that's just wrong." --Rod Blagojevich. From the Patriot Post.

Once Morons “Understand” ObamaCare, They’ll Be Thrilled “A lot of people are going to like [the health care bill] a whole lot once they see what’s in it. For the first time, it’s got some long-term care in it, which everybody is desperate for as the population gets older. It’s paid for, totally paid-for long-term care insurance. So, I think that there’s a lot in the bill that people are going to like. It’s just a question of understanding it.”
— ABC’s Cokie Roberts on This Week, December 20. From the Media Research Center.

Talk about racist: "And they're monochromatic right? ... Every picture I see shows them to be. ... Meaning they're all white. All of them, every single one of them is white." --MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Tea Party protesters (Bob Parks, a black man who attended a Tea Party, http://biggovernment.com/2010/01/06/matthews-all-teabaggers-white-maybe-....) From the Media Research Center.

WORDS OF LIBERTY FOR THE WEEK:
---------------------------------------------------------------------

"No pecuniary consideration is more urgent, than the regular redemption and discharge of the public debt: on none can delay be more injurious, or an economy of time more valuable." --George Washington, Message to the House of Representatives, 1793

"But with respect to future debt; would it not be wise and just for that nation to declare in the constitution they are forming that neither the legislature, nor the nation itself can validly contract more debt, than they may pay within their own age, or within the term of 19 years." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to James Madison, 1789

"We owe these blessings, under Heaven, to the Constitution and Government ... bequeathed to us by our fathers, and which it is our sacred duty to transmit ... to our children." --President Millard Fillmore (1800-1874)
