HJR 1054 the Healthcare Freedom of Choice Act needs to move forward.

This is a joint resolution for a proposed constitutional amendment stating; "A law or rule shall not compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer or health care provider to participate in any health care system; and A person or employer may pay directly for lawful health care services and shall not be required to pay penalties or fines" for lack of insurance.

Here is the progress of HJR 1054 thus far;

• HJR 1054 filed 12/22/09;
• passed House 77y-10n, 3/11/10;
• enacting clause stricken, which nullifies effect of the resolution;
• passed Senate 36y-11n, 3/23/10
• Sent to disagreeing conference committee, 3/29/10

"Oklahomans are happy with the current system and want no part of the new one. This legislation will help them send that message to the federal government” says Mike Ritze the House sponsorer of the bill.

Please Ask President Pro Tem Coffee to assign this measure to committee so that it may advance.
