The puppy mill bill 1712 is scheduled to go to the governor. I have pets and oppose animal cruelty but I strongly oppose this bill because it creates bigger government and more red tape and will only micromanage the law abiding citizens. Animal abuse is already illegal and the criminals aren't going to report themselves. Friends of mine who have a pack of hunting dogs and who never sell their puppies would be subject to fees and unscheduled warrantless inspection of their home. Even the American Kennel Club opposes this bill. I know this is a small issue compared to many facing our country and state but all of our freedoms need to be protected. Our freedoms are being taken with every unneccessary regulation that become law.
