Call Your Representatives
Say "NO" to Obama

It's all over the news! America will run out of money if the debt ceiling isn't raised by August 2. We'll default on our financial obligations! Our credit rating will be lowered! According to Obama, if he doesn't get his way it will be "Armageddon." I personally am fed up with his fear tactics, threatening the elderly with their Social Security payments and our military with their pay. I think if he didn't pay these obligations first, it would be political suicide.

The latest threat is that if the debt ceiling isn't raised that 1/3 of the government will shut down. Wow! It's like a dream come true! 1/3 of the government? It's a start. I guess they haven't heard, we are in favor of smaller government.

I don't know about you but I'm fed up with the bully tactics. Obama has poked me in the chest one too many times and now I'm pushing back and I would encourage you to do the same. Call your Representatives and tell them to stand firm against Obama. NO compromise!

Our compromise was Cut, Cap and Balance! I say it was our compromise because it did allow a raise in the debt limit. So, like my daughter told me when she was in kindergarten about the lunch lady who told her she had two options in regard to lunch, "take it or leave it," I say we send the same message to Washington. Cut, Cap and Balance WAS our compromise... take it or leave it!

MoveOn.org and other progressive organizations are sending people to Congressman's offices and they are flooding the phone lines in Washington. We don't want their voices to be heard while we do nothing. Many of us are fortunate to have conservative representatives that are on our side. My Congressman, John Sullivan has made a commitment to not voting for a debt ceiling increase but he still needs us to call his office so our voices are heard. YOUR Congressman needs to hear from YOU.
John Sullivan, US Congress

Due to the short week and the Memorial Day observances we do not have an agenda worked up for the OKC912project general meeting on June 2. Let us all continue to work toward the restoration of a Constitutionally driven and derived government and to increase all of our individual knowledge and awareness of what that is supposed to look like. Have a great month until our next meeting.

IMMEDIATE ACTION: Please ask your Representative to VOTE NO on SB264

Friends of ROPE: Please IMMEDIATELY call your own personal Oklahoma House Representative (find them here: http://www.okhouse.gov/FindMyLegislature.aspx?State=OK) and ask them to VOTE NO on SB264 for the reasons below. If you are uncomfortable with the information, please click the links and do the research yourself. Thank you for your efforts on behalf of our KIDS in public education!
---------- Forwarded message ----------

Honorable House Representative,

Although ROPE very much wants to deregulate public schools from the load of mandates imposed upon their workings throughout the years, we are EXTREMELY concerned about several sections of this bill. We would ask that you VOTE NO on SB264 until the language does not include the following:

1. Page 7, Section 4: The Quality Assessment and Accountability Board task force was ALREADY approved in SB 222 from 2009. It was to produce a report by Dec 31, 2010. Where is this report? Why are we creating another Task Force?

2. Pg 11 Section 3G: The Task Force is again mentioned but now there is NO DATE as to when a report is to be accomplished (The previous Dec. 31st data has been stricken from the bill) and does not even outline EXACTLY what the Task Force is to accomplish.

3. TASK FORCES GROW GOVERNMENT

4. Page 7, Section 4;1 and also . Page 14, Sect. B1: : All of the language under these sections relates to Core Curriculum Standards and the P20 data system for which we have grave concerns about which we have spoken to many of you. Why are we moving forward with this without any vetting at all? http://capitolbeatok.com/_webapp_3900642/Despite_Barresi%E2%80%99s_suppo.... Action Alert: Sue Tibbs Kills Open Carry, Again!
I know, we sound like a broken record, but Sue Tibbs has done it again. Last week, open carry was voted down by the House Public Safety Committee by a 9-8 vote. Following that vote, Rep. Tibbs told our Policy Coordinator that she would allow the bill to be heard again if certain changes were made to the bill. Changes have been made but now Sue Tibbs is going back on her word. Who’s to blame? Is it the State Chamber of Commerce? Is it Higher Ed? Is it the Speaker? Word at the Capitol is that the State Chamber and Higher Ed leaned on Steele who in turn leaned on Tibbs. Apparently Speaker Steele is not the man of steel because he bends with the political winds and allows special interests to steal the Constitutional rights away from law-abiding and freedom-loving Oklahomans. Remember that Kris Steele said he would not get in the way of a Second Amendment bill at High Noon on Friday.....So, it is time to turn up the heat. Please call or email Speaker Steele (405-557-7345, krissteele@okhouse.gov) and ask him to stop blocking open carry. Call or email Representative Tibbs (405-557-7379 or 918-663-3915, suetibbs@okhouse.gov) and ask her to keep her word to reconsider, SB129, Open Carry. Then call or email the other members of the House Public Safety Committee (contact information can be found below) and ask them to demand that Sue Tibbs keep her word to reconsider the bill. Tell them you want open carry passed this year.

OKC912Project General Meeting Announcement - Thursday, April 7th , 2011

Fellow 912ers. If you have been watching Glenn Beck these last couple of weeks you will recall his suggestion to the 912 groups across the nation to organize a "Flash Mob" for charitable giving for this April 21st. He didn't go into a great deal of detail and wants us to organize it the way we see fit. The general idea is to be visible as we hand a bag of groceries or other staple to a needy fellow American. Just hand it to them and tell them simply to hang in there...there are fellow Americans who care. You don't have to turn to the Federal Government to take care of everything...that route takes you to total dependence.

We have had preliminary discussions about how the OKC912Project will participate and want to tell you about it this Thursday, April 7th at 7:00 PM at the Del City American Legion Hall. We will also have Margy Pezdirtz relate to us her recent trip to Israel (she was there during the recent public bombing).

Please come and share your ideas, observations and most importantly, your energy, enthusiasm and hope.

The OKC912Project Presents Crash Course - Part 2

Would you like to know what it means when the talking heads on TV say the Fed is printing money?

Do you wonder why prices are rising, yet the government assures you there is no inflation?

Can you imagine what will happen if the U.S. dollar really does collapse?

Do you want to know why the Tea Partiers and the Constitutionalists are so concerned about the national debt?

Do you think it doesn't have anything to do with YOU?

We think it does concern you. We think that yours and your family's well-being (survival) may very well depend on your learning the answers to these questions.

And the members of the OKC 912 Project want to help you learn more.

The OKC912Project group are planning to present a three-night lecture/discussion open to interested community members. Each night we will show approximately an hour long video segment from Crash Course followed by a discussion of the implications of what was just presented in the video.
http://www.chrismartenson.com/crashcourse.

For example, topics of discussion will include:

History of U.S. Money, Debt Policy, Federal Reserve and Money Creation, Inflation, A Trillion?, Bubbles, Environmental Issues, Peak Oil and more...

It is critical that thinking Americans realize how all these topics interacted to create the very dangerous situation we find ourselves in now. By offering the information to you in summary form, the 912 Group plans the brief topical presentations to be followed by serious discussion and learning for all who attend. We believe we can make a difference in our community and hope that you will join us for these meetings.

STOP the Tax Bill
aka The Spending and Earmarks Bill

WOW!! They still don't get it! The senate passed the tax bill 81-19 and it goes to the House for a vote tomorrow. This is the wrong bill at the wrong time. Should this get passed in the house, because of all the perks and add ons it will swell our deficit by adding an additional $1.1 Trillion (YES! Trillion with a "T") to our national debt. This bill will extend Unemployment benefits for a year making a total of 3 years of unemployment availability. What kind of skills will someone have after being unemployed for 3 years? This is nothing more than a SPENDING and EARMARKS Bill and is nuts!

Our state representative John Sullivan has called and is asking for our help. It seems the Republican House Leadership is pressing him hard to vote for this tax bill, which he opposes. When speaking with him I expressed that many of the people that are voting on this have been fired as of November 2, and have no business voting on ANY bill. A CEO of a business that had been relieved of his duties (FIRED) would not be allowed back in the boardroom to make decisions for the company that had just let him go, so why should those that have been fired in Congress be allowed to continue to make the poor decisions that affect all of us after they have been fired? It doesn't make sense to me. Congress should not be allowed back in session following an election. Let them use November and December to pack their bags and find new digs. Once the new Republican Congress is in office they can restore the Bush Tax Cuts, making them retroactive to January 1, so let's let them do the job they were hired to do.

This is TRULY Awesome! A way to REPEAL Obamacare!!! I have talked to numerous small business people already feeling the effects of this onerous piece of legislation that nobody but Pelosi, Reed and Obama wanted. Please, take the time to go to the Heritage Foundation website http://heritageforamerica.org/ and read about how a repeal would work. Write your Congressman/woman - even your senators and ask them to file a discharge petition and then sign it once written!!! Find your Congressmman/woman here: http://www.congress.org/

There’s this thing in the United States House of Representatives called a “discharge petition.” In a nutshell, a congressman can write a bill and, when the leaders in charge of the House refuse to do anything with it, the congressman can file a discharge petition. The petition, if personally signed by 218 congressmen, forces the House Speaker to put the matter up for a vote by the House.
Why is this important?
Well, every Republican in the House of Representatives and a bunch of Democrats say if a vote were held tomorrow, they would vote to repeal Obamacare. In fact, if you add up all the Blue Dogs, the Republicans, and the Democrats now scrambling for political cover saying they’d vote to repeal, you arrive at the magic number of 218, which also happens to be the total number of votes needed to pass a piece of legislation in the House of Representatives.
Congressman Steve King (R-IA) has filed a discharge petition on legislation he has drafted to repeal Obamacare. He needs 218 signatures.

I just talked to SONNIE in Senator Reynolds (521-5522) office AFTER making a phone call to Speaker Benge's office and being told that NOTHING ELSE CAN BE HEARD FOR THIS SESSION.

This is a SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION (5) and can be heard at any time as long as it is alive. Sonnie made a phone call and assured me it is. She said it was in the GCCA
(General Conference Committee Assignment). It was her understanding that it can be removed from the committee and placed on the House Floor for a vote ANYWAY.

"Something is rotten in the state of Denmark (Oklahoma)."

It appears the Big Government lobbyist has successfully found someone to amend HB 2569 for Senator Newberry.

Senator Randy Bass has filed a floor amendment to HB 2569, to allow for RFID-enabled "enhanced drivers licenses" (EDLs) in OK.
EDLs have an RFID tracking chip in the them and are part of the federal government push toward creating an national/international ID card. EDLs further the implementation of the notoriously controversial Real ID Act of 2005,.
